1. How do I clean and maintain my Adirondack furniture?

Different materials need to be maintained differently. Always defer to the manufacturer's instructions that come with your Adirondack chair for tips and guidelines for cleaning.

Recycled plastic Adirondack chairs and furniture can be cleaned using mild soap and water: just wipe down the furniture as it needs it. For more stubborn dirt or mildew, stronger household cleansers or bleach can be used diluted with water, or the furniture can be sprayed with shower/tile cleaner and wiped down.

Unfinished wood Adirondack chairs and furniture should be dusted and cleaned with a soft, dry cloth. If more serious cleaning is necessary, mild soap and water can be used, but be careful to dry the furniture immediately, as unfinished wood should not be exposed to water for long periods, nor should harsh cleansers be used on it.

Finished and painted wood Adirondack chairs and furniture can be wiped clean with a soft, dry cloth, and if more serious cleaning is necessary, mild soap and water can be used, and the furniture should be wiped dry immediately. Do not use harsh cleansers on painted and finished wood furniture, as these can damage the finish or strip the paint. On stained/oil finished furniture, wood cleaners can also be used.

3. Does your Adirondack furniture need to be stained, painted or finished?

Recycled plastic Adirondack Chairs and furniture do not need to be painted or finished in any way. The color goes all the way through the plastic, so there is no risk of it chipping or cracking, and it is resistant to sun, heat, and weather.

It is not necessary to paint, stain or finish the unfinished wood Adirondack chairs or furniture, as the wood will sustain and weather naturally. If wood is left unfinished, normal color changes and minor surface cracking may present, but neither affects the integrity of the furniture.

If desired, unfinished wood Adirondack chairs and furniture can be stained, painted, or finished to suit your patio decor. Always follow your manufacturer's instructions and recommendations when painting or staining your unfinished Adirondack furniture.

7. Can the Adirondack chair cushions you sell be used for other Adirondack chairs and furniture?

Each of the Adirondack chair cushions we sell is custom-made ? each is designed and fitted to the Adirondack chair for which we sell it so, while it would be possible to use an Adirondack chair cushion with a different Adirondack chair than the one for which it was made, the cushion would not fit properly.
